Description
Mara Heuer (*1986) is an artist based in Halle (Saale). She studied in the master class of the renowned illustrator ATAK at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle. Mara loves to explore different visual universes of cartoon characters, toys, and other figures from past pop cultures. Thematically, she often returns to the 1980s and 1990s, when she was a child. In numerous series, Mara translates toy worlds into her own and deals with topics such as remembering, processing emotions, and collecting. Her work often contains aspects of self-irony, vulnerability and rebellion.
