Marijpol alias Marie Pohl, *1982, studierte Visuelle Kommunikation und Illustration in Hamburg. Sie arbeitet als Illustratorin, Comiczeichnerin und Designerin und lehrt als Gastdozentin Zeichnen und Bilderzählung an verschiedenen Hochschulen. Ihre Comics erscheinen in internationalen Magazinen und Anthologien wie Lagon Revue, Mould Map und Colorama Clubhouse.

In »HORT«, Marijpol brings us closer to the lives of three unusual women: not only are their bodies non-conformist, their life plans are just as little in line with social expectations. What happens when Petra, Ulla and Denise suddenly feel responsible for three abandoned children from the neighborhood? A work about alternative images of the body, women and family.

She works as an illustrator, comic artist and designer and teaches drawing and picture narrative as a guest lecturer at various universities. Her comics appear in international magazines and anthologies such as Lagon Revue, Mould Map and Colorama Clubhouse.
